Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will host a German Beer event on October 12th. Enjoy the Warsteiner Oktoberfest Special Edition complete with a DAS BOOT glass to take home. The mild and smooth fall favorite is especially brewed for Oktoberfest. Come early to claim yours!
Banger’s Saugage House and Bier Garden will host a three-day festival starting with a gun salute on October 13th. Throughout the weekend enjoy live music, compete in a stein hoisting competition or enter a brat-eating contest. The Oktoberfest menu includes bierwurst, spaetzle, schnitzel, weisswurst and German potato cakes. Banger’s has over 100 beers on tap and 30 house-made sausages.
The Stonelake location of NXNW Restaurant and Brewery will host the 15th annual benefit on October 15th-16th. The two-day event features a bratwurst-eating contest, dog costume contest and live music. The Oktoberfest menu includes bratwurst, sauerkraut, red cabbage, pretzels and Bavarian cobblers. This family event also features a bounce house and face painting for the kids.
The Austin Saengerrunde will host the fourth annual Oktoberfest at Scholz Garten on October 22nd. The event features German contests, bowling and live music. Enjoy Karbach bier plus unlimited German-style sausage from 12 local vendors. Funtober voted this benefit for Texas Foodways one of the top 10 up-and-coming Oktoberfests in the country.
Live Oak Brewing Company will host an Oktoberfest event on October 22nd. Enjoy live music, participate in strength competitions and play German games. Come thirsty for Oaktoberfest and Smoaktoberfest on draft. Chow down on fresh fresh sausages and smoked meats from Smokey Denmark.
Haymaker will host the third annual German festival in Manor on October 22nd. Contests include stein holding and a Hammerschlagen contest, which involves hammering a nail into a log. Haymaker is famous for comfort sandwiches, but the special Oktoberfest menu features brats, pretzels and plenty of Oktoberfest beer. Lederhosen is welcome.
The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. will host the fourth annual celebration of all things fermented. ABGB will feature special fest beir, live music and brewers sporting lederhosen. Come hungry for a pig roast and plenty of brats. Show off your strength with the return of Hälfte-masskrugstemmen, better known as a stein-holding contest.
Even though this 10-day salute to sausage isn’t in Austin, it would be an Oktoberfest crime to miss it. The festival runs November 4th-13th and features over 40 international and national music acts. Have a shopping spree at the new Stelzenplatz, a marketplace for Bavarian merchandise and goods. The entire family will have fun at the midway carnival or doing the Chicken Dance. Quench your thirst at the craft beer garden or feast on a variety of authentic German food. Wurstfest has been a tradition since 1961 and USA Today readers voted it the best Oktoberfest in Texas. It ranks number two in the nation.
