In this screen cast I show how you can use FileZilla as an FTP client to upload plugins and templates to a WordPress installation.

Shame on you “newlifetrib9412″ this is a great little video. I just wrote a blog post about installing a back up plugin for my subscribers and popped on here to get a simple video explaining the process. This is exactly what I wanted. It is only for hosted I believe.
Well done good simple video doing what it says on the tin.

The public_html folder is just where web content is placed on this server - it may be difference on yours. I’ve never seen a plugin fail to appear - are the permissions on the plugin you uploaded correct?

I’m using the Filezilla FTP server as well, and I’ve been able to upload themes. But I’m having a real problem uploading plugins. I watched your video and I don’t have a “public html” folder. Instead I uploaded a plugin from my hard drive to my wp-contents/plugins folder, but it still won’t show up under my plugins in the back office of my blog. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure what you mean. I created the video as many of my users wanted me to show them how to use FileZilla to upload a plugin for their WordPress installation.
