I have found a special site only for such tutorials. This community is still very young.
Look at:
My-Tutorial dot com

and the whole rotation thing did NOT slip my mind, its just a waste of time rotating the image if you could just change the angle from the get go.

I personally dont think this is the correct way the hair is supposed to be made, but if you insist! The video isn’t practical, it cant be used in the real world. If you’re so adamant then why dont you post a vid (which uses the exact technique from the vid) that shows it being used in real pictures.

Hey, i would love to do a tutorial to show you what i did, but i just dont have the time. you’ll just have to follow my instructions above. If you want help please post a reply to this and i’ll try my best. Cheers.

C’mon, that looks nowhere near to hair, not to mention that textures like that are totally useless.

read1588– I assume it escaped your mind you can rotate the image? where is your tutorial huh???
Now you might have a point on the straight issue, in my SL templates hair does go in several directions but I cann ever get that direction right.

This was very helpful. Very simple.. I spent an hour doing the hair strokes by hand, uploaded.. Paid my L$ and OMG it was horrible!
I am looking forward to more tutorials from you..

Read1588 This vid is the correct way of how its done for Female Hair and some Boy hair. The Dyed Boy hair is done sideways and in your Explanation…

Good Job, However, that isnt even close.
1. Hair is NEVER that straight
2. Highlights are meant to go from top to bottom, not left to right.
3. you should have pixelated it with Mezzotint, (long strokes) after that you should have motions blurred it. Then duplicated the layer and motion blurred it at a slightly different angle, reduce the opacity of one of the layers, merged them and Hue&Saturated it till you got the colour you wanted.
burn and dodge tools, highlights.
