I have spent so long trying to think of themes for this book but none are coming to me. Please help me think of one!
Screw you Joey Hawk. Eclipse is a fantastic book. HP is equally awesome, and don’t be so overly biased.

hm…. here’s one: females are nothing without their male counterparts. females are meant to be **********.
Bella refuses to be happy/live her life until her Edward comes home. what a pathetic excuse for a “young woman”. she’d die for him and all he can do is say, “i’m too dangerous” in his boring, 1-dimensional, “mysterious” way. and leave her. so she feels hopeless and “can’t move on”. you know what? i don’t even know why they love each other in the first place.
theme 2: some vampires are really stupid.
they’re immortal, but do they take advantage of that? nooo.. instead, they choose to spend the rest of their endless lives masquerading as high school students.
here’s another one: take an old-fashioned, trashy romance novel and change a couple of the characters into vampires and you get a bestseller. put simply: crap + vampires = bestseller
that book is one big cliche. except with vampires. you’d be better off reading something else.

Really?
Themes include:
-Friendship
-Romance
-Conflictive Romance/Romantic interests
-Conflictive Friendships
-Love conquers all,
-Love is the strongest force
Edward could have easily killed Bella at *any* time… but his love had overpowered his thirst and now he is just there to protect her.
PS>> Andrea probably hasn’t even read the series; Romeo and Juliet is played in just about every movie, every book, every song in the history of ever. Welcome to life, Harry Potter wasn’t the first warlock story, but its still one of the greatest selling books of all time.

Hm….
True love, Friendship, Acceptance/Tolerance (even though Jacob and Edward hated each other, they still worked together), Making difficult decisions, Bravery, Jealousy
There are many books that have similar plots and themes, but Stephenie Meyer described everything in detail, and that made the book different from the other vampire novels.

I agree with Anna [Solace]
Love Conquers All.
